Chronic sunshine

My favorite piece of technology is my laptop. It is a MacBook Air, my father gave it to me for Christmas two years ago. I like it because I can do almost everything related with technology, I use it almost every day. I have to use it for my studies but also for my hobbies, like watching movies, videos on Youtube, Facebook, reading the newspapers, and looking for information in Google. Also, I think we could not work without Word, Excel and many programs. Also, I like it because I can keep my pictures, so it is almost like a box full with memories. But I don’t understand to much how technology works, so I’m always afraid that I am downloading something that can damage my device. The only bad thing that about my laptop is that it doesn’t have the equipment to put Cd, so I can’t watch films in that format. I am very happy with my laptop and I don’t need more, and I have never lost it. I hope it won’t happen!

When I was in my last year at school I wanted to study political science, because I didn’t knew what I really liked, I wanted to do something related to sociology, history and to argue about the problems in the world. But in the other hand I really like art and cinema. But as a good libra I wasn’t sure about anything. So, in December I was convince that I would take a gap year, to think and look for what I wanted to do with my life. I started to work in December, but I applied to journalism, because I thought it could cover all my preferences. I also applied to political science, law and cinema. In mars I thought twice if I was ready to take a gap year and the idea of going to the university wasn’t that bad. The first two days my thoughts were: What am I doing here, but then I started to make friends, the classes were fun and I was discovering that being a journalist wasn’t a bad idea. I started to read more, I discovered new artist, and that to be a journalist could be important...

My name is Emilia, I am 19 years old, I was born in Santiago, the capital of Chile, the largest country in the world. In this moment, I am a journalism student. I was in a French school, also they had teach – and impose -- me to love the French culture but most valuable thing is that I have learned French and a lot about art. What I like the most is to go to the movies and listening to music but I really like every representation of art in general. I can’t pick a favorite movie or band or artist, but between them I think 2001: Space Odyssey , from Stanley Kubrick and Persona from Ingmar Bergman are master pieces. Also I like to read, right now I like poetry, but I am always changing my tastes.
